Driver ID on Geotab
There many ways to track which drivers are using which vehicle by using the Driver ID features available on Geotab.
Driver ID on Geotab is a feature which allows Driver Identification for drivers that switch between vehicles or vehicles that have multiple drivers, to show the live usage of who is driving the vehicle at the present time and to show the history of the trip, according to the driver who created the trip history.
On the map view, you can easily see your vehicles and the associated driver. Below, the vehicle name is “ES Vehicle” and the driver is “Amanda P”:
On the list of your vehicles on your main map page, you can also clearly see the driver name listed next to the steering wheel:
You can use the Driver ID system to make sure right driver is driving the right vehicle in Geotab using in cab beeping (NFC reader and tags required). Audible alerts can be enabled on the system, resulting in the Geotab GO tracking unit will start beeping if the driver does not register their key fob. I
Required to purchase:
- Driver ID Tag NFC Reader (Near Field Communication), doesn’t include any key fobs
- Driver ID Tags (key fobs)
Option Add-On:
- External buzzer (if not purchased, then system can use built-in audible alerts from the tracking device)
